Specializing in chronic pain and complex dizziness rehabilitation, Step Forward Wellness offers a unique take by considering not only your muscles and joints but also your neurologic patterns. The assessment begins with full body movement and moves into more subtle movements and sensory awareness. Treatment begins with sensory awareness training through neural calming and mindfulness leading to subtle movement to find balance and alignment and ending with full body movement training. Moshe Feldenkrais was correct when he said "Movement is the language of the brain". How you use your body says a lot about you. Changing how you use your body allows you to tap into the unconscious patterns that dictate your movement. A wide variety of techniques are used and listed below in addition to the traditional physical therapy strategies: Dry Needling Meditation Acupressure Yoga Modified Feldenkrais Method Osteopathic Manual Manipulation including: Myofascial Release Craniosacral Therapy High Velocity Low Amplitude Thrust Muscle Energy Technique Strain Counter Strain Lymphatic Drainage As a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a licensed physical therapist in the state of Michigan, I can offer a superbill for physical therapy services that will allow you to seek reimbursement from your insurance provider. Reimbursement depends on your specific plan but is typically reimbursed as "out of network". Sliding scale for payment available.
